Paint the Pony is our annual campaign to spread awareness about the impact that Free Rein has on our Spokane community, and raise money to support our exceptional herd. Our goal is to raise a total of $30,000 between May 1st and June 12th, 2023!
Our equine team works hard to change the lives of every participant. Will you help us ensure they get the best of care?
Not just any horse can qualify for equine-assisted services. These gentle, patient horses are selected for temperment, experience, and stamina. After extensive training or re-training, they're ready for classes with our riders and participants. And they earn their keep! Our horses serve an average of 8 riders per week, in keeping with PATH standards for therapy horses.
The cost of keeping our team members in top condition is over $10,000 per horse per year, including feeding, training, vet and farrier care, and stabling.
